New HTC Touch Diamond

This may indeed be a gem of a phone. HTC came out with its Touch phone before the iPhone was released last year, so calling it an iPhone knockoff "would be an extraordinary insult," said Avi Greengart, research director for mobile devices at Current Analysis.
The Touch Diamond, with a 2.8-inch screen, has a 3-D touch interface called TouchFLO 3D, and runs on Microsoft's Windows Mobile. (Msnbc.com is a joint venture of Microsoft and NBC Universal.) It's due out in the coming months in the U.S. "Several of the major carriers will be offering this phone," said a company spokeswoman, although specifics are not yet available, nor is pricing. An online search for phone the yielded costs ranging from $650 to $700. The "diamond" part of the name definitely goes to the back of the phone's design, which blends "contrasting design elements of metal and unique geometric facts," according to the company.
